5 THINGS TO DO IN PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC
Aug 01, 20175 Things To Do In Prague, Czech Republic
Prague is without a doubt, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. There is so much to do and see that our recent three-day stay just wasn’t enough. While this list could go on and on, here are 5 Things To Do in Prague that you’ll be able to work into your itinerary even if you’re only there for a short amount of time.

1). Set Your Alarm
The Charles Bridge is stunning- and everybody knows it. If you’re visiting during the high season (which in Prague happens to be most of the year- especially during summer and around Christmas), getting over the Charles Bridge isn’t an easy feat. Because there are so many unbeatable photo opportunities, from the second the bridge comes into view to the minute you reach the other side, you want to be as present as possible, taking it all in. Capturing images, either with your camera or just in your mind, can be tricky when you’re fighting for elbow space or, if you’re 5’3 (like me) and can’t see over other/taller people’s shoulders. Therefore, the best way to remedy this, is to get up early. Check to see what time sunrise is and plan to arrive to the bridge just before. While it won’t be completely empty, the amount of people willing to forfeit sleep won’t compare to the hundreds of others you’ll have to share the bridge with during the rest of the day. Afterwards, take a walk over to Old Town Square before everyone comes out for breakfast.

2). Grab A Beer
Home to the original Pilsner, The Czech Republic has some of the best beer in the world. As someone recently boasted to me, “In Prague, the beer is cheaper than water!” and they weren’t kidding. After two Locals insisted we try the pub Malostranska Pivnice, we took their advice and gave it a go. The beer was tasty, cold and unbelievably cheap and we got to sample a variety of traditional Czech food, which was very, very good.

3). Do A River Cruise- At Night
There are multiple companies that offer cruises, but we chose Prague Boats and had an exceptional night on the water. The company offers various cruises during the day as well, but the view of the city from the Vlatava River when the bridge, towers, churches and castles are all illuminated, is truly magical. Choose from a more casual Dinner Cruise with a buffet-style meal, or a slightly more upscale sit-down experience. Either way, it’s a special event that you’ll remember forever.

4). Visit The Castle
Even if you don’t go inside the palace itself, it’s worth visiting the Prague Castle’s grounds, at the very least for the view of the city. We were lucky enough to be staying at The Golden Well Hotel, which sits just at the foot of the castle, so we were only a few staircases away. Once you’re there, you have the option to go inside the castle, walk around the gardens and even visit the famous Toy Museum. On the way down, stop and have lunch on the Golden Well’s rooftop terrace, where the view is still exceptional and the food is equally as good.

5). Roam The Streets
When visiting any big city, it’s always nice to explore neighborhoods that are outside the main hustle and bustle of tourist attractions. Old Town in Prague, while unbeatably charming, is the most crowded of all in the city, so make sure to explore the areas just outside. We especially loved Lesser Town; the quiet cobblestone streets with that colorful, well-preserved, straight-out-of-a-fairytale architecture that Prague is known for, was a great place to explore and appreciate without having to fight for a spot to stop and take pictures.
