MEET ME IN MONACO- FOR A VIRTUAL VISIT!

I’m very excited about the new Wilsons in Wanderland Book Club, and the chance to experience a taste of travel with a group of people who are as enamored with it as I am.

While this worldwide quarantine really is uncharted waters for all of us, we are fortunate that it comes at a time when technology is ever-advancing. Despite any physical distance, we have the opportunity to virtually “hang out” with friends and family from all over the world, in cyberspace (I’ve grown particularly fond of the FaceTime Happy Hour), and I am looking forward to “meetings” with this book group. Had this been 10 – or even 5 – years ago, our time in isolation would have been much different, with our options for at-home activities being far more limited than they are today. I’m loving all of the creative ways people are connecting during this time.

Sticking with the theme of this month’s literary selection (Meet Me in Monaco by Hazel Gaynor and Heather Webb), I wanted to find some online excursions to the Mediterranean principality. And, as if doing it just for our book group (!), the Visit Monaco team has launched Monaco 360, an upgraded + updated virtual tour. Here we can enjoy a panoramic view of the gorgeous and glamourous French Riviera coast and skyline, with the ability to click and zoom in on – and into – many of the city’s main attractions.

…I also found a handful of photos from my last trip to Monaco – 11 years ago– with my then-boyfriend, now-husband, at a time before these two little human-creatures we’ve claimed as our own, came into this world. A lot has changed since we were there, but Monaco undoubtedly remains beautiful. I’m grateful to be “returning” this month, between the Monaco 360 tour and the literary trip we’ve embarked on together.
